HPDE (high performance driving event) is exactly what it sounds like. It is the closest you will get to wheel to wheel racing without having a prepared race car. Different organizations have different levels, usually levels go from 1 to 3, and then onto an Instructor level.

HPDEs are run across the country at a number of race tracks. Thats right, you get to race on real tracks that all of the famous drivers race on, and at any speed you would like. The best part about an HPDE is that you take your own car, so you learn on your own car and you can use the skills you learned on the track and apply them to the street if ever needed.

HPDE can be pricey, average prices are in the $300's and some can go higher depending on who you run with and where. For more information on these driving events visit Nasa pro racing.
